Depending on the ticket(s) bought, bagage can either be included in the ticket fare OR can be bought separately, if the ticket fare is excluding baggage (the most common ticket fare type).
If your flight ticket does not include baggage, or if you want to bring more baggage than allowed according to your ticket fare, you often can add extra baggage for an additional fee.
There are two types of baggage:
Carry-on baggage (hand luggage)
- This is a small or medium-sized suitcase you are allowed to bring into the cabin.
- Dimensions and weight vary by airline (for example, 55 × 40 × 20 cm and a maximum of 10 kg).
- Always check the exact rules on the airline’s website (you can find the link in the ticket email).
- The suitcase is stored in the overhead compartment above your seat.
- Is only offered, if available. Please check the airlines' website for further information.
Checked baggage
- This is a larger piece of baggage, which will be checked in cargo hold.
- Usually max. 20–23 kg, depending on the airline.
- You collect the suitcase at the baggage carousel after landing.
Note: A suitcase that is too large or too heavy can lead to extra fees at the airport.
